Michael Oberdries incorporated OBERDRIES CONSULTING LTD in December 2003 as a vehicle for his geospatial consultancy and contracting work which he began in July 2001. Oberdries Consulting has an extensive background in the application of geospatial systems and the provision of spatial data solutions.

Work experience crosses a wide range of industry sectors including consultancy, utilities, transport and logistics, local government, land and environmental information systems, asset management systems, forestry, and GIS in tertiary education provision and research. Michael holds a Bachelor of Surveying (Otago) and an MSc Environmental Science (Canterbury).

He is passionate about solving problems in the spatial domain and possesses a wide conceptual and applied knowledge of geographic information science, combined with an excellent understanding of the spatial information marketplace and supporting infrastructures in New Zealand.
