Oberdries Consulting offers GIS project teaming capabilities in the following areas
Much of the work undertaken by OBERDRIES CONSULTING LTD has been project focussed, often bringing together participants from a diverse array of backgrounds. Through this experience we have developed strong interpersonal skills, an enthusiasm for team dynamics and an innovative results-oriented work ethic.

Oberdries Consulting offers GIS technical capabilities in the following areas
Complex spatial data analytics The application of complex spatial data analytics to enable new and interesting data insights that often only a spatial perspective can provide.
Large spatial data interoperability problems Connecting, transforming and automating the movement of spatial data between platforms.  Manipulating spatial and non-spatial data to insure standards and/or schema compliance.
Spatial data translation and migration The extraction, transformation and loading of spatial and attribute data from one data format or system to another.

Extensive experience with the complexities of migrating utility asset data repositories held within the Smallworld
® GIS platform.
Spatial data quality issues Spatial data validation, spatial data cleansing, rebuilding spatial and non-spatial data integrity, spatial and non-spatial data matching, resolving data anomalies.
Geoprocessing task automation Developing and automating large and complex geoprocessing tasks on spatially enabled data sets.
Open source geospatial software solutions PostgreSQL / PostGIS spatial database management systems; the Carto® cloud-based web mapping platform; the UMN MapServer web mapping environment.
Spatial systems review and analysis Spatial systems review; business requirements analysis; feasibility studies; functional specifications; and quality assurance.
GIS project planning GIS project scoping, task identification, time-line and cost determinations.
Systems documentation and training Preparation of detailed project documentation and implementation of systems training.
Geodatabase design and Implementation All aspects relating to geodatabase design and implementation, predominantly in the ESRI software environment.
Geodatabase tuning and administration Database management approaches and techniques to insure that your geodatabase environment is performing optimally.
Asset management / geodatabase systems integration Database design and modelling methodologies to enable tightly-coupled integration between asset management systems, property systems and the geodatabase environment.
New Zealand coordinate system transformations Migrating vector and raster spatial data sets between the different geodetic datums and map projections in use in New Zealand.

Oberdries Consulting past project work of significance
LINZ LDS change-sets (multiple clients) Development of FME® (Safe Software) workflows to fully automate the reconciliation of the LINZ LDS property information spatial and non-spatial table change-sets (published weekly) against any locally held client data repository.
iSite Media bus transit advertising Lead technical consultant for this multi-award winning Critchlow  project which pioneered the development of a new and innovative outdoor media measurement system for targeted bus advertising campaigns.
Auckland Council Capacity for Growth Study Lead technical consultant for this multi-award winning Critchlow project which saw the development of an a number of innovative and complex spatial data modelling algorithms used to measure dwelling capacity under Council’s Legacy, Draft and Unitary Plans. This was a multi-phase $500K engagement delivered over 18 months.
Custom geocoding  The application of FME® (Safe Software) to enable a SOAP geocoding web service to be expressed as a REST geocoding web service complete with configurable parameters and the ability to invoke it in batch mode with no degredation in performance. The application of FME® (Safe Software) to develop custom geocoding data models from road centreline address range data.  The new data models delivered performance gains on geocoding requests that were 15X faster than traditional methods and more data rich.
Cadastral-shift spatial data conflation The application of FME® (Safe Software) to develop a number of specialised and automated workflows to undertake NZ cadastral shift adjustments (conflation processsing).  Utility services, district plan and a number of other commonly maintained GIS data sets are often derived from, related to, or offset against an underlying survey parcel land base which is ever shifting.  Those charged with the ongoing upkeep of these dependent GIS data sets need a reliable and repeatable process that can shift them in such a way that spatial relativities are retained without corrupting any of the topological relationships inherent in the original data sets.
